ADU & Small-Space Electrification
Curated, snap-together kits that take any shed, studio, or ADU fully electric — solar, heating, cooking, and controls — without a general contractor.
The Kit Ladder
Each tier is a complete, tested kit — not a parts list. Pick the one that matches your space today, and add tiers as your needs grow.
Tier 01
Climate Protection
Keep pipes from freezing and tools from roasting. A minimal electrical kit that adds a plug-in mini split and basic panel protection — no habitation needed.
Tier 02
Human Comfort
Make your studio or workshop genuinely livable, year-round. Adds solar generation, battery backup, and plug-in cooking to a climate-ready subpanel.
Tier 03
Full Electrification
A complete off-gas package for an accessory dwelling unit. Grid-interactive, demand-response ready, and designed for the installer who wants to offer a premium product.
The Process
No mystery, no middlemen. Every kit ships with everything you need and instructions written for DIYers, not electricians.
Answer six questions about your space — size, existing power, intended use — and we'll confirm the right kit. Free consult call included for Tier 3.
Pre-configured components, pre-cut wiring harnesses, and a laminated install guide. Everything fits in two boxes, sized for a standard truck bed.
Most Tier 1 and 2 installs take 4–8 hours with two people. Video walkthroughs cover every step. Live chat support on install day.
The Craftstrom app shows live solar production and consumption. Open-source controls let you dial in schedules, temp setpoints, and grid response.
Curated Hardware
We don't manufacture — we select. Every product in an EcoSnap kit has been installed, tested, and iterated in real small spaces across multiple climates.
Pre-charged refrigerant lines with a tool-free snap connection. No HVAC certification needed for the line set. Fujitsu and Mitsubishi units available by climate zone.
Heating & Cooling200W panels with a 350W HEDY microinverter that plugs into any standard 120V outlet. Stackable to 800W with no additional permits in most jurisdictions.
Solar Generation1–3 kWh LFP battery handles compressor startup surges and stores midday solar for evening use. Designed around our peak-constraint control system, not just efficiency.
Storage1800W two-burner portable induction — no gas line, no venting, no CO risk. Faster than gas, easier to clean, and safe for tight spaces with limited ventilation.
CookingSquare D QO panel with Craftstrom PowerMeter integrated. Real-time production and consumption data in the app. Foundation for demand response and load shifting.
ElectricalESP32-based control board with community-developed firmware. Works with most mini split brands via IR or direct serial. Schedules, setpoints, and grid signals — all local, no subscription.
Controls & AutomationWhy EcoSnap
No manufacturer lock-in
We curate the best components from multiple brands. When better hardware ships, we update the kit — your existing system stays compatible.
Open controls, not a subscription
Our control layer is open-source. Your data stays local. No cloud dependency that disappears when a startup pivots.
Tested across real climates
From Colorado winters to Pacific Northwest damp to Minnesota cold — our kits have field hours in conditions that matter, not just California sun.
Designed for the next step
Every kit is architected to be a building block — Tier 1 wiring is Tier 2-ready, Tier 2 controls anticipate grid response. You don't rip and replace.
The cheapest clean energy system is the one a competent DIYer can actually install.
Early Access
We're running a founding-customer pilot this summer. Early access members get install support, discounted kit pricing, and a direct line to the product team.
